ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP
On Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m.

Architecture workshop at the Hill of Notre-Dame du Haut.

For 2 and a half hours, you’ll explore the site with a short introduction of the hill, during which the guide will discuss the history of the place, the architectural conception of the chapel and the Modulor*, the monastery and the gatehouse by Renzo Piano, and the bell tower by Jean Prouvé.

Then, it’s time for creativity and imagination. Whether solo, in a duo, or with your family, you’ll be invited to create a model of Le Corbusier’s chapel based on the 5 points of architecture, or buildings by Renzo Piano, or the bell tower by Jean Prouvé.

Are you up for the challenge?

We guarantee you’ll have a great time.

*The Modulor is a system of measurement devised by Le Corbusier in the 1940s, aimed at harmonizing architecture with the proportions of the human body. It was a real obsession for the architect, who wanted to create living spaces on a human scale. The Modulor is based on the proportions of the human body, more specifically on the height of a man of 1.83 meters with his arm raised. This measurement is then broken down into a series of harmonious proportions, based on the golden ratio and the measurements of the human body.
